fall has arrived

i think fall is finally upon us.. it was clearly evident with the leaves beginning to change.. and the cooler weather (which i'm not too fond of).. i think its finally time to say goodbye to the days of not having to wear a hoodie everywhere.. :(

fall does mean lots of new inspiration for photos tho' !!

saturday morning we got up to see this fog had rolled in over the lake.. as we were getting ready to go to the 'springs festival' .. the sun began to eat away at the fog leaving behind a crystal clear lake.. of course we had to run down and see it before we left..

i think this is one of my favorite pictures ever.. you can see how clear the lake is.. and how still it is from the reflection.. and of course there's that amazing blue sky..

the 'springs festival' is this thing we go to every year.. it is basically comprised of lots of crafts.. but it is set up in such a way that is very cool.. there's always people playing different kinds of music.. demonstrations of various kinds.. animals.. amazing food.. just lots of cool stuff.. and this guy is there every year.. and he does a presentation about his old flint-lock musket.. then will shoot it off.. he's there EVERY single year.. and he's never changed.. i always remember him standing on top of this rock.. dressed the exact same way.. giving the exact same speech.. shooting off the exact same gun.. pretty cool :)

'springs' is about a 45 minute drive away from the lake.. and you have to go thru' some amish country to get there..

after church this morning.. the weather was so glorious.. i couldn't resist shooting some portraits.. ruby is ADORABLE is she not ?

fall doesn't really kick in tho' until we officially close up the lake house.. and next weekend will be our last weekend there.. so i guess fall is pretty much here..

digital photography

so today we had a choice.. either take the entire class and play with our images.. or do some studio work.. idk what the heck is wrong with the class.. but everyone wanted to work on their images >.< so next thursday (the next time we have class) will be spent in the studio ! YAY..

don't get me wrong.. photoshop is so much fun to play with.. and having the opportunity to not only play with it.. but also get the images printed is amazing.. however i really really REALLY want to learn about the studio and get into all that fun stuff.. so i'm really looking forward to next thursday =D

but anyway.. here's what i did in class today.. some of the pictures -- its just better to click on them and enlarge them to get the full effect.. and of course they will look better yet when printed out in either 8x10 or 11x14.. but you can get the idea..

more photoshop fun..

the past few digital photography classes i've had.. we've spent a little bit of time learning a technique.. but then the bulk of the class time has been spent just playing around with our own images.. which is always fun :) here are just a few that i've "worked" on.. i am planning on getting my best photographs printed out and giving them as Christmas presents.. so obviously you won't see those :)

my best friend is old :)

my best friend's actual birthday is september 23.. however.. her hubby planned out a surprise party for her that occurred yesterday :) she's so smart tho' that she knew that something was up -- she just didn't know what.. and she was shocked to find us all in her apartment waiting for her :)

i love this girl !!

so i learned something new.. she loves balloons !! i never knew this until yesterday.. yeah i know.. i'm a terrible best friend.. but now i know :)

blowin' out those candles.. haha when we brought them out to her.. she goes "omigosh do i have to blow them ALL out in one breath?" haha as if she couldn't do it :)

haha so we also learned that we're so stinkin' competitive :) we played.. 5 rounds of catch-phrase.. and argued over the results almost every game -- it was guys vs. girls and of course the girls won.. which the guys hotly contested.. we laughed so hard tho' while playing that half the time the person trying to describe the word couldn't do their job correctly =D

noah.. who could never seem to get a word he knew and he'd always burst out with "what is this?!" haha

elliot.. who always seemed to get the easiest words ! lol not fair :)

esther.. who was crazy excited that it was her big sister's birthday :) she's so adorable..

and of course.. best friends being crazy together like usual :)

a walk around my yard

when most people are bored they watch a movie or play around on the internet.. when i'm bored.. i pick my camera up and take pictures..
