::Family Photos:: The S Family [Sayre, PA]

Have you ever met someone that you just, instantly connected with?

I don't know what it is, but there's just something about some people that it seems that, you've barely even met them but, you just mesh.

I love meeting people like that :)

And, I've made it one of my goals to be one of those people. That is so easy to get along with, so easy to know, so easy to be friends with. I'm not sure exactly what the process of being that is? So, if you have any tricks or hints - they'd be appreciated !!

Anyway, on my first day of my new job, I met someone like this.
She is one of the managers at the bank I work at, and she was given the task of doing my orientation day. She let me know right away that she had no clue what she was doing, and had stayed late a few nights before to read up on what she was supposed to be telling and showing me that day.

All I remember, is that we connected :) And I instantly felt like I had a friend. And that made me that much more confident to start my new job.

Allison is fabulous and she always talked about her family.
And when she found out that I was a photographer, she told me I just had to take some family photos for her over Christmas.

So, in between Christmas and New Years, I got together with her & her adorable family & shot some photos !!

I am so privileged to have families invite me into their homes, to trust me enough to bring me into their personal castles, and allow me to capture them where they are most comfortable. I think that's what I love the most about my current "situation". I don't have a studio and so I'm forced to be an "on-location" photographer - and you know what? I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Okay, enough talk - on to photos !

I was in the kitchen, pulling my camera out, testing a little bit of light - when one of Allison's two cats decided to have some dinner :)

And, while we were waiting for everyone to get ready - Allison showed me her gorgeous grand piano. It's fabulous. And so she & her daughter sat down and played me a little duet - SO COOL :D

Dad and the big brother arrived - so we got down to business :)

This was the cutest thing ever - Allison had asked me for several specific photos: family shots, kid shots etc - but of course I  had a few in mind that I wanted too - and so when I asked the kids to step back but Mom & Dad to stay, they both got all cute and giggly and a little embarrassed. Soo glad that they were good sports for me though !!
HEY, when the lady with the big camera tells you to do something, you do it :D And I'm so glad they did :)

I LOVED the relationship between Allison's kids. They are 7 years apart, and so you'd have to wonder if that age difference would affect their relationship? No way. Age difference - smage difference. She looks up to her big brother like he's her hero with those big loving eyes. And he protects her like the precious jewel she is. It is the sweetest thing ever.

And, we ended off the night - with an idea that we stole from a family a few posts back [catch up on them here!] The kids got into their pajamas and read a book together in front of the tree.
PERFECT.

I loved spending time you & your family, Allison ! They are completely precious and I hope you guys had as much fun as I did :)
